Java Biocolloid is a company that specializes in the production of red seaweed extracts, such as Agar Agar, both for use in the food industry and the pharmaceutical sector.

Our Milestone

Established in 2011 as part of the Hakiki Group, a Southeast Asian food distribution colossus, Java Biocolloid has since reached world-renowned status as one of the highest quality Agar Agar producers.



With almost 50 years of experience in the food industry and market presence in Southeast Asia, Asia and Europe, Hakiki Donarta offers products ranging from functional food ingredients to ready-to-use supplementary products.

In addition to being a distributor, Hakiki Donarta also owns Landkrone, one of the most advanced manufacturers of oils, fats and filling creams in Southeast Asia. Landkrone, using technology developed in cooperation with Java Biocolloid, has been able to stay ahead of the competition.

In 2017, Java Biocolloid Europe was created to fulfil increasing demand from the West for our products and to pursue innovation and research in the sector. The location chosen for Java Biocolloid Europe is Trieste, a free port in northern Italy that will facilitate the distribution of our products across Europe and the USA. Java Biocolloid Europe’s objective will be to provide continuous support to customers and to create specific blends to suit their needs and requirements.

Moreover, Java Biocolloid Europe is going to focus on the development of bacteriological Agar Agar, to exploit the gap in the market caused by substantial dip in supply of the last few years.

This will all be achieved with the help of a team of people with more than 30 years of experience in seaweed processing and application who bring to the firm a wide range of multidisciplinary skillsets.
